In January 2012, together with the main seaports of Le Havre and Ports of Paris, the port of Rouen created the Haropa EIG (Le HAvre ROuen PAris). Thanks to a unique range of highly efficient and competitive services (dockside facilities,, storage platforms, etc.), the Economic Interest Group forms part of the world’s main international logistics flows.

With connections to ports worldwide from its strategically situated coastline and access to the largest consumer basin in France, Haropa is the leading port complex in France and the three ports that form it together represent the 5th largest European port complex in the world in terms of tonnage handled.

Designed to increase the visibility of the Seine Corridor at the international level and strengthen the link between sea and river, this new hub has several thousand hectares of available land and land reserves and attracts nearly 120 million tonnes of cargo.

Transport and Networks

The motorway network (A13-A14, A28 and A29), the maritime and river connections, the railroad system (with the project for the New Paris Normandy Line and the future construction of a new station that will make Rouen less than one hour from Paris) and numerous crossings of the Seine in Normandy all help to develop a genuine vocation for logistics in the region surrounding Rouen.

In terms of road travel, major French and European cities such as Paris (2h), Nantes (4:30), Brussels (5:00), London (5:20) and Rotterdam (7:00) are all within reach of Rouen.
