Historically industrial, the Rouen metropolitan area has managed over time to adapt and mutate its activities towards services and the tertiary sector. The many on-going or planned investments confirm the relevance of the assets of the Rouen offer, reinforce its competitiveness, and allow the region to develop its tertiary sector even more.
Rouen at the very heart of the Normandy French Tech
Invested in a French Tech label process on a Normandy scale obtained in July 2015, the Rouen metropolitan area is the setting of an entrepreneurial effervescence in the digital sector.
This creation movement is supported by a “business friendly” environment made up of incubation solutions (Néoma BS, Normandie Incubation), acceleration solutions (Village by CA), co-working spaces, business incubators-service centre of Rouen Normandie Creation where Seine Innopolis is the totem building of Normandy French Tech. The start-up creations also benefit from support and assistance structures from Rouen Normandy Creation, from the Entreprendre network and BPI funding solutions, Normandie Capital Investissement (NCI), Normandie Participations, Go Capital, NFactory, etc.
Backed by this coherent environment and a reactive and benevolent network operation of the ecosystem stakeholders actors, the Rouen community is the setting of many success stories such as Saagie (big data, accumulation of 10M€ of fundraising), OmicX (bioinformatics, accumulation of 3.6M€ of fundraising) but also Marché-privé.com, Spreadn Paygreen, Digiworks, Topo Vidéo, etc.
The Rouen metropolitan area also attracts digital companies from Paris which are setting up in the area, or at least established the digital activities of their companies such as the R&D, the development and the cyber-security. This is what the European search engine Qwant did when he chose Rouen to develop its cyber-security team.
The Fintech, Real Estech and cyber-security themes are gradually becoming marks of our digital ecosystem.
